Clemens Völkl studied in Vienna, London and Stockholm. He was an assistant at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Vienna for 4 years. He then worked for several renowned commercial law firms before becoming a partner at Völkl Rechtsanwälte in 2010.
He is a university lecturer at the Institute for Civil and Corporate Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, a lecturer at, among others, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the Lawyers’ Academy, the author of numerous specialist books and over 50 articles in specialist journals.
Clemens is a member of the board of trustees, a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Financial Market Law (Zeitschrift für Finanzmarktrecht, ZFR), chairman of the Society for Financial Market Law, a member of the European Law Institute and its Special Interest Group on Insurance Law, and a member of expert panels of the Institute of Austrian Certified Public Accountants (Institut Österreichischer Wirtschaftsprüfer, IWP). He is also a member of the permanent neutral arbitration panel of the Austrian Football League. He is also a trusted attorney of the American Embassy in Vienna.
